Last night cameras were pop’n & flash’n on the red carpet for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Musicians and celebrities flooded the red carpet in their sundays best….. Some were hits, some were misses! Who was your favorite???

My personal favorite dress was Carrie Underwood….. My overall favorite carpet look was GaGa in head to toe Armani. That bish brings the drama and executes flawlessly!!

RAIN, HAIL, SLEET, SNOW….. Well maybe just the rain. But A-listers & celebrities alike attended the 67th Annual Golden Globes Awards last night held at The Beverly Hilton. Now, usually my attention tends to drift after the red carpet segment, but I’m noticing more and more how enjoyable the Globes can be (I’m an oscar gal)! I was watching the Critics Choice Awards the other night, and found myself actually getting excited for Sunday’s Golden Globes… Well needless to say the red carpet was underwhelming! It was raining, there were no tents for guest and everyone on the red carpet was pretty much photographed with umbrellas in the shots! I was also annoyed by the watermarks and stains on the silk charmeuse & satin dresses…. But hey, what can you do?? The show must go on!!

Meanwhile Mo’Nique wins the first award of the night….. That was all I needed to forget all about the red carpet disaster, I almost lost my shit!!! I’m so so happy for Lee Daniels and the entire cast of Precious and Mo’Nique’s speech was absolutely touching. And that Gabby…. Gabb got spunk, she’s just amazing to me!

Speaking of amazing… How about Halle Berry??? I can’t…. I really can’t!! I’m just going to call her “the face” from now on! lol She is breathtaking and the dress, insane!!

The cast of the Hangover were adorable too…. That damn Bradley Cooper, so cute! I was happy to see my man Mike Tyson in the building as well! Kate Hudson was my favorite red carpet look of the night…. Leona Lewis & Zoe looked fab as well! Good times & inspiration watching the awards last night!!!

Sartorial Lust Part Deux….

Street Fashion Photographer, Scott Schuman, has published The Sartorialist! Following his immensely successful namesake blog, Scott has published a paperback edition and the coveted Bespoke Edition. The Bespoke Edition is a beautifully bound hardback for those who would use this as a conversation piece and thing of beauty. The pictures of everyday people are simply mesmerizing. These photographs give you a feeling of reality and fabulousness all wrapped into one. People rushing from here to there, all the while looking effortlessly chic. It makes me think about who they are, and where they are going. The expressions on their faces, the way they stand, all paint a picture and convey a message. The Sartorialist has performed the magical feat of truly capturing the realistic beauty of day to day style & fashion!

Italian Designer Maria Francesca Pepe

Italian designer, Maria Francesca Pepe is the new “it” girl. When viewing her line, I immediately think chic with a razor sharp edge. She experiments with triangular shapes in her jewelry,womenswear,bags and shoes. Her Fall/Winter 2009-2010 line displays dark, structural beauty. Drawing her inspiration from 19^th Century fashionable French prostitutes, Pepe forces a different perspective on jewelry and apparel. She has now come out with a collection she calls “jewelry wear.” This line boasts of menswear-inspired tee shirt shapes in wools and washed silks. The soft materials are the direct opposite of her usual metal wrist cuffs, breastplates and armbands. “The clothing is a frame for the jewelry, so I want it to feel easy.” The idea of creating clothes that are intentionally made for jewelry and vice versa is innovative. Maria Francesca Pepe’s vision of merging the conventional with the unconventional is what makes her designs unique.

I Am Ledgen……

Yesterday our world came to a screeching halt as word spread of Michael Jackson passing… Since then tributes have been pouring in for the pop icon who died yesterday following a suspected cardiac arrest in his Bel-Air home. It was a sad day for everyone, I literally shut down, it’s surreal and really hard to accept! Myself, like many others basically grew up listening and obsessing over MJ! He is a part of our culture…. I feel like he’s a part of ME! As I’m sitting here watching the tributes and videos, there are mixed feelings… I’m sad, but I’m also happy that he is at peace…. No more pain and watching all the videos and listening to the songs… Makes me smile, my heart is warm and I’m filled with joy to have been able to experience such an extraordinary talent …. There will never be another, he’s the best of the ledgens and I will never forget how his music makes me feel!

We love you Michael Jackson rest in peace!!

CFDA In Color

The annual CFDA Awards were held last night in NYC at the Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Designers and celebrities flooded the event in celebration of this years nominees. I really would have liked to see more “color” in the building….. But what can you do?? LOL Where was Chanel Iman, Will & Jada, Sessilee Lopez, P.Diddy, Rihanna, Kanye West & Amber, Halle, Jennifer Lopez,… I mean the list could go on! Maybe I missed them or they could have been busy, but when you have a fashion event that is parallel to the Oscars or Grammy’s make moves and get there! Enjoy the photos below!!!
